THE ENCORE SYSTEM
THE ULTIMATE IN VIDEO AND AUDIO FIDELITY
Kaleidescape’s Encore System is ideal for customers who wish to enjoy their movies in the finest available quality from the Kaleidescape Movie Store, and for those who desire 4K Ultra HD or high-dynamic-range video. Encore systems scale to fit any home and any movie collection. An Encore system is the best match for large 4K Ultra HD televisions and projectors, and for modern AV control systems. A Disc Server is available as a convenient way to store, browse, and play Blu-ray discs and DVDs.
STRATO MOVIE PLAYER
4K ULTRA HD AND HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE
The award-winning Kaleidescape Strato is the world’s first and only 4K Ultra HD high-dynamic-range movie player. Strato plays movies in true 4K Ultra HD at up to 60 frames per second, without startup delays, buffering messages, or quality drops that are so common with streaming services. Strato supports lossless multichannel audio including Dolby Atmos, and bit-stream pass-through of Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. The Strato onscreen user interface is also displayed in 4K Ultra HD, at 60 frames per second, resulting in fluid animation and a stunning visual impact.
Strato can be purchased with or without an internal 6TB hard drive that can store up to 100 4K Ultra HD movies, 200 Blu-ray quality movies, or 900 DVD quality movies. Strato equipped with internal movie storage can be used standalone or in a system with other Encore components. Strato with or without internal storage can play movies from any Terra movie server, from another Kaleidescape Strato or Alto with internal storage, or directly from a blu ray disc or dvd in a Kaleidescape Disc Server. The movie starts immediately, without trailers or warnings, and you can jump right to your favorite scene or song, without fast forwarding.
ALTO MOVIE PLAYER
DESIGNED TO IMPORT CONTENT EXCLUSIVELY FROM THE KALEIDESCAPE MOVIE STORE
Kaleidescape Alto combines pristine playback quality with the legendary Kaleidescape experience. Alto will give you access to the 11,000* movies and 2,000* TV seasons that Kaleidescape has licensed for the Movie Store, most of which are available in bit-for-bit Blu-ray quality.
Alto also features an optical drive, so you can enjoy your favorite Blu-ray discs and DVDs. It is available with or without an internal 6TB hard drive that can store up to 200 Blu-ray quality movies, or 900 DVD quality movies. Alto equipped with internal movie storage can be used standalone or in a system with other Encore components. The Alto with or without internal storage plays back from its disc slot, a Kaleidescape Terra movie server, another Alto or Strato player with internal storage, or a Kaleidescape Disc Server.
TERRA MOVIE SERVER
A Kaleidescape Terra stores up to 24 TB of movies on its hard drives, and serves them to Encore players in the home network. Terra also provides computing and caching services that enhance the performance of Strato and Alto players. Up to seven Strato players can simultaneously play 4K movies from a single Terra server; up to 15 players can simultaneously play Blu-ray quality movies from a single Terra server.
DISC SERVER
The Kaleidescape Disc Server is a great solution for a movie lover with a collection of Blu-ray discs and DVDs. It enables you to browse your collection, and select and play movies on any player in your Encore system, without the inconvenience of having to find and insert a disc.
DVDs and Blu-ray discs in a disc server appear in the Kaleidescape onscreen display along with the movies you have downloaded from the movie store, while the discs themselves remain organized and easy to find.
The Disc Server holds up to 320 discs and supports automated access and playback by any movie player in the Encore system. An Encore system may contain any number of disc servers.

Blu-ray movies are played in high-definition video with lossless audio, including support for 1080p video with 24 frames per second, and bitstream pass-through of Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. The exclusive Kaleidescape Movie Guide provides cover art, synopses, and details like actors, directors, genres, ratings, and instant access to favorite scenes. Concert songs are indexed for easy access. Movies start instantly, without advertisements, trailers, or menus. The M500 Player can also copy your Blu-ray discs and CDs onto your Premiere System, and play directly from a physical disc.
M300 MOVIE PLAYER

The M300 Player is based on Kaleidescape’s M-Class architecture, a powerful platform for the onscreen user interface and for playing Blu-ray content. Blu-ray movies are played in high-definition video with lossless audio, including support for 1080p video with 24 frames per second, and bitstream pass-through of Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. The exclusive Kaleidescape Movie Guide provides cover art, synopses, and details like actors, directors, genres, ratings, and instant access to favorite scenes. Concert songs are indexed for easy access. Movies start instantly, without advertisements, trailers or menus. The small footprint of the M300 is ideal where direct playback from physical disc is not required, such as a child’s room.
1U SERVER
CAPACITY FOR 485 BLU-RAY OR 2,700 DVD QUALITY MOVIES
The Kaleidescape 1U Server provides reliable storage for your favorite movies and music. Like all Kaleidescape servers, it is designed to protect your valuable collection even in the event of a hard drive failure. Multiple servers will cluster to store thousands of movies and albums as a single, seamless collection.
DISC VAULT
HANDS-FREE ACCESS TO UP TO 320 DVDS, BLU-RAY DISCS, OR CDS
The fast and easy way to add movies and music to your Kaleidescape Premiere System. You simply insert as many discs as you like, and walk away. Your Kaleidescape disc vault does the rest. Your Blu-ray discs and CDs are automatically copied onto your Kaleidescape System, and are ready to be enjoyed throughout your home. Once copied, a Blu-ray disc must remain in the disc vault to enable playback of the copy on the server. The vault also catalogs your DVDs so that you can organize, search, and play your DVD movies via the onscreen user interface without the hassle of finding and changing discs.
History of Kaleidescape
Kaleidescape was founded in 2001 by Michael Malcolm, Dan Collens, and Cheena Srinivasan. Malcolm had previously founded Network Appliance Malcolm self-funded the startup and the company spent over two years developing its technology in “stealth mode.”
The company briefly suspended operations in August 2016, but quickly resumed operations 5 weeks later due to a massive outcry of support from their customers, industry supporters, and partners.
